It’s clear that a lot of people feel overwhelmed by the actions of the Trumpublican administration. Some have tuned out, some feel despair, and many feel powerless. There’s a lot of speculation about who will save us. Where are the Democrats? Why aren’t they doing anything? Will someone appear to lead the opposition?
But ultimately real power comes from the people. Things change when citizens rise up and resist. And since this is an administration led by grifters and plutocrats, one way to get their attention is to stop sending them money. Here are some ideas…
Boycott Trumpublican Billionaires
Cancel your Amazon account, or at least try not to buy anything there. If you find something you want on Amazon, buy it from the manufacturer or a local retailer.
Cancel your subscriptions to commercial media companies. The Washing Post, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, ABC, CBS, and NBC are all afraid to challenge Trump. Switch to Substack and Bluesky where you can find all the journalists that quit in protest in a non-commercial environment. People like Jim Acosta, Adam Kinzinger, Paul Krugman, Dan Rather, Joy Reed, Robert Reich, Jennifer Rubin, and Joyce Vance and Barry Weiss.

Shop at Costco instead of Walmart. Lowes instead of Home Depot. Bank at your local credit union instead of Wells Fargo and Bank of America. No more Airbnb. Do your research and find out which companies align with your principles.

Send your money to people who are actively resisting. Politicians like AOL, Jasmine Crockett, and Elizabeth Warren, Chris Murphy. Donate to organizations that are funding court challenges like ACLU, Public Citizen, and Democracy Docket
Join National Protests
Feb. 28 - 24 Hour Economic Blackout. No/minimal spending for the day
March 7-14 - Amazon blackout. No Amazon, Whole Foods, or Prime orders.
March 14 - National strike. Skip work for a day.

Make Noise
Call your congressional representatives and let them know what you think. Attend town halls and school board meetings, protests and rallies.
We Can Win This Fight
The congressional Trumpublicans may be hiding under their desks for now, but they can’t hide from the voters forever. We know that many of them hate Trump and Musk, but they are afraid of Trumps enforcers and of losing their jobs. But Trump is a lame duck and his approval rating is fading fast as his supports realize that he has no intention of following through on his populist promises. Just three or four defectors will flip the house and senate. Join the fight for our democracy!
It now looks like America is for sale. Wealthy people can buy citizenship for $5Million while people of lesser means are no longer able to earn their way to citizenship. This is shameful and without defense.
It seems that the motivation for all the Trumpublican actions is financial. As if the life, liberty and happiness are all measured in $ & ¢. Seems short-sighted, but as they say fight fire with fire.
